Successful civic forum in Kilkenny

The Kilkenny civic forum was a great success, with representatives from around the country attending. Participants came from Kilkenny, Cork, Galway, Meath and Limerick to discuss submissions and propose actions for the Open Government Partnership second National Action Plan. The beautiful setting in Kilkenny Castle, with a fun atmosphere guaranteed by the Kilkenny brass band playing in the park, contributed to a very positive, engaged and effective forum.

Participants had views on a range of important actions on the issues of citizen engagement, transparency, strengthened governance and accountability. A live blog of views shared at the event shows the range of views and experiences shared by participants. These will input into the drafting of the national action plan, in early October.

The next forum will be in Dublin Castle on the 22nd September, 10am-12.30pm. Make a submission today to discuss at the forum. After making a submission, you will receive a link in your confirmation message with a short questionnaire for you to register to attend a forum and discussion your ideas.
